Created by Autodesk, Buzzsaw is a cloud-based system that enables building information modeling (BIM) workflows. The solution is suitable for architecture, construction, transportation, automotive, building products, equipment and fabrication businesses of all sizes.

Buzzsaw provides tools for data management, modeling and documentation and is integrated with the entire Autodesk portfolio, which covers data management and design solutions. Its engineering and project collaboration features offer tools for the overall editing and reviews process.

This system also enables online project management, where files can be viewed and exchanged online, and mobile apps are available for Android and iOS devices. The solution offers centralized management of projects and data for gaining visibility of all activities. It also provides tracking of construction forms, bid invitations, document and drawing information.

Pros

Buzzsaw is very easy to use and has an easy to understand interface. It requires very little training for new users to understand, and allows you to coordinate and monitor multiple large projects(in my case, 11 projects all in excess of $50MM) Buzzsaw gets the job done.

Cons

Definitely need a lot of work on the mobile side of things. Their mobile apps leave a lot of critical features off, and this really bothers me. Additionally, because of the design, you have to use a windows based computer with IE to access full functionality. As a Mac user, I had to buy a second laptop just to use Buzzsaw.

Advice to Others

Mobile power is almost more important that desktop. Incorporate more construction critical processes, I.E. Punch lists, etc

Pros

Bare bones PM platform. Document management, RFI tracking, inter agency communications, does all this well

Cons

No financials, support is difficult to obtain, licenses are costly, no mobile platform developed when I uses
