Wecounsel is a cloud-based, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing solution designed for telemedicine practices of all sizes. It offers live chat, patient scheduling and check-in, a clinician dashboard and video calling. Android and iOS apps are available for tablets and smartphones.
Wecounsel features practice management, which allows users to manage appointment scheduling and medical billing. Users can also take notes using customizable note templates. Patient interaction tools let users schedule calls with patients through multiple channels such as video, live chat and email. Providers and practitioners can also share documents such as lab results and forms.
Website and social-media integrations help users promote their practices and manage Google rankings. The product also provides an open API, which allows users to integrate Wecounsel with other platforms and transfer data such as SSO authentication, video sessions and appointment scheduling.
Pricing is per user per month. Support is offered through an online help desk.
WeCounsel is a very easy-to-use platform for HIPAA compliant video conferencing, scheduling, messaging, and documentation. I love that everything is in one place.
Despite having detailed instructions on how to use the video feature, clients still have struggled to get their video up and running on the first session.
Some of their tech support agents are incredibly helpful and professional, while I noticed some others struggle to maintain a professional demeanor, telling me about trouble they are having with other users, and expressing outward confusion and frustration in problem solving issues, rather than confidence and putting me at ease.
I also wish there was a toll free number you could call in the moment if you are experiencing technical issues. Especially when you have sessions scheduled and you waste 15-30 minutes trying to help your client set up their camera, it can be really annoying to "request a call" and have to wait 24 hours to hear back.
It would be great to be able to sync the calendar with other calendars but it's still easy to use the calendar feature directly on the site.
Overall, I highly recommend using this platform. It's very easy to navigate, upload counseling notes, and even create templates right on the site. They are very responsive to questions and helpful when you need something.

WeCounsel has allowed me to provide evaluation and psychotherapy online via a HIPAA compliant platform. The format is clear and direct allowing ease of use. The site is easy to navigate and explain to patients. The cost is very reasonable. They continue to add new features and functions to improve the experience. The customer support and technical support are exceptional. Their technical support people converse in simple, direct language in helping guide providers and patients through set up or technical challenges.
Ease of use
Patients sometimes have trouble locating how to schedule an appointment. They tend to click on Calendar which seems intuitive but this does not bring up my schedule.
I dislike the slide bar on the charge page to set the fee. I often adjust fees for various reasons and would like to just enter a dollar amount rather than fiddle with the slide bar to adjust minutes to get the correct fee.

The calendar in the dashboard is the calendar for the user who is logged in. Some of our clients are actually connected to more than one provider, which is why they have to navigate to your availability to view it. Thank you for providing that commentary, however, we will look into ways we can make this more clear for clients.
We will actually soon be removing the slider and an empty field will appear instead where you can enter any amount you want. I will make sure to let you know when this change is made.
